Every hill-walker needs the right pair of mountaineering boots that are not only comfortable but also waterproof and durable. The Jack Wolfskin Texapore wilderness peak is an attractive option, but is it really what you want?
Upon first impression, these boots seemed quite chunky and large. We tested the size 10.5 which weighed 1726g. Although these boots are a lighter option than most boots of its kind, lighter options are available in the market.
The boot has a good climbing zone and aggressive lugs which may not interest hillwalkers. Nonetheless, this feature may make you feel positive when climbing scrambly steps. The rubber used in making this boot is wide and durable. High-quality leather is used in making the uppers. The details are decorative and the seam is barely visible.
Just like other leather boots, your feet will adapt to these mountaineering boots as you use them more often. Their durability is great, making the ideal snowshoes. These boots will do well in grade 1 and 2 winter but may not be a great hiking option. You might also want to use the lacing in place of volume reducers.
