Women make great hikers and mountain climbers and as such need the best gear that we can provide them with. Our team successfully reviewed and tested different brands of women’s climbing shoes. Here are our top three selections;

1. La TX2 Sportiva

These shoes are incredibly lightweight and have great comfort and support. However, their durability may not be trusted but they make climbing easier. It allows you to try out different strategies for pitch climbing and scrambling.

2. La Boulder X Sportiva

These 28.6 ox shoes are super comfortable and very supportive. Their price is also good. However, they are quite bulky and may not be the best climbing aid for you.

3. La TX4 Sportiva

TX4 gives 24/7 comfort. It is sturdy and durable. A downside is that the price is pretty high and its climbing stability is less precise. However, it is ideal for big mountain missions and its incredible durability makes it worth it.

When compared to its alternative, this shoe may not be the best choice for climbing technical rock. We also liked its climbing ability and balance.

Price Range and Availability

The La Sportiva TX4 is widely available through outdoor retailers and the brand’s North America website, where approach shoes in their current collection range up to $239.00. The women’s TX4 Evo model is priced at $189, positioning it in the mid-to-upper range for technical approach footwear.

When shopping for the TX4, keep in mind that La Sportiva builds their shoes on European half sizes. These are smaller increments than US half sizes, which can affect fit. If you’re between sizes or ordering online, it’s worth reading customer reviews about sizing or trying them on in-store first.

The TX4 Evo weighs 1 lb. 8 oz. in the women’s version, making it substantial enough for rough terrain while still light enough for all-day wear. Availability tends to be strong for this model since it’s consistently ranked as one of the best overall approach shoes on the market.
